Transpose - Chrome Extension

This is a very useful free extension for Google Chrome which works on any webpage containing audio, such as a YouTube video or the Spotify desktop app.

Often when teaching a student a new piece, I may refer to a YouTube video in the lesson and perhaps use the Playback Speed in Settings to change it to 75 or 50% speed.

With the Transpose Chrome Extension I can fine tune this to any percentage from 25% up to 400%! Beyond slowing music down to aid practice, this can open up other sound manipulation possibilities for creative music-making such as sampling and time-stretching.

Within the extension you can also do a number of things including changing the key of the video - useful for singing - or looping any specific section of the video. It has become a valuable addition to my teaching toolkit.
